Want to Travel But Don't Know Where to Go? Lowest Fares Finder

| | Comments (0)

I love to travel, but I'm a tightwad. There, I said it. Oh, c'mon, you know you're one, too, or else you wouldn't be here on TipBlog. ;)

I like to research travel on the internet, probably just as much as DOING the actual travel. So, I'm going to be posting some links to sites I find helpful for finding cheap travel and this is my first -- Travelocity's Low Fare Alert.

If you go here: http://travel.travelocity.com/relevance/ShowLowFares.do -- you may need to be logged into your Travelocity account to access it -- you will be able to see all airfare deals from whatever departure city you choose. You can see the list alphabetically or (my favorite) sort by price.

Remember to search the lowest fares from other nearby cities. Flying from Baton Rouge to Jacksonville would cost me $200, but if I drove to New Orleans (about an hour away) and flew from there, it would only cost me $123.

If you know where you want to fly but you're waiting for a good deal to book your trip, Travelocity has another cool feature I just learned about called FareWatcher. Log into your Travelocity account and then go to My Stuff (on the top right side of the page). Under FareWatcher, click Personalize. Then you can enter city pairs and you'll get an email alert whenever airfare changes more than $25 (or whenever prices drop below a certain amount you specify).

Hope these tips help! Here's the link to Travelocity: http://www.Travelocity.com
