I think of all her suggestions, the buy online after midnight and pay extra for shipping tip was the best. It would be SO worth it to pay a few bucks for shipping but save a ton of money AND the hassle of fighting the crowds on Black Friday.

Personally, I tend to do both -- shop online on BF and in-stores, cherry-picking the best deals from each. Online is great, but I also like the excitement of shopping in the store. Last year, I was shopping with my sisters-in-law, and one of them was picked at random while getting checked out by the cashier at KBToys, to have her entire order paid for by the mall as part of their BF promo. This year, the same mall is giving away goodie bags to the first 500 in line, some of which include iPods or GCs for shopping sprees. Cross your fingers for me, willya??
