Join PayPal Competitor, Revolution MoneyExchange, Get $25 Signup Bonus
Just like PayPal (I know, "I've heard that before..."), but this is actually backed by a real FDIC-insured bank, First Bank & Trust, of Brookings, SD. Revolution MoneyExchange will give you $25 to join and $10 for each friend who joins. And you can cash it out to your regular bank account!
"Are these guys legitimate? I've never heard of them before and they want my banking info...?"
Had the same questions myself! I did some research on them and found this article that gives a lot of bankground info on the company: "Talkin' 'bout a Revolution in transferring money online" - USA Today, 11/15/07.
Revolution was founded by Ted Leonsis, vice chairman emeritus of AOL, and Steve Case, founder of AOL. That's a pretty good pedigree. ;) They launched MoneyExchange on AIM in November of last year, in the hopes that it would appeal to younger people involved in IM'ing and social networking.
The $25 signup bonus and $10 refer-a-friend bonus started on 2/22, according to Revolution's press release here. In order to receive the bonus, you have to sign up for an account before 3/31.
I got an email from a lady who said she had already signed up, received the bonus, and withdrawn it to her regular checking account. She said the signup process is as easy as PayPal's, and the process of withdrawing her bonus to her checking account was much faster than PayPal.
If you want to try it with me (what have we got to lose?), please email me and let me know to what email address I can send the invitation to join. I'd love to hear from if you've used the service already -- please leave a comment; thanks!
